JF35 - John Gleich (1877 - 1927)

He is mainly engaged in painting landscapes, seascapes and issues figure, both customs and Orientalists. He also practiced architecture. During his early years he worked as a trader, so his training was self-taught.
In 1909 he made a study trip to East through Sri Lanka and India, where he took notes of the natural and performed many works inspired by everyday life and the emblematic places in the area. Gleich lived in Schöneberg in Berlin, but also in Barcelona, where he made lots of paintings with themes of landscapes, seascapes and portraits, as well as several wall decorations, such as the Official Residence in Pedralbes.
